Believe

Lately I have found myself walking around with a smile on my face while my heart is filled with so much doubt. I sometimes wonder how can  the wicked continue to be so wicked. They seem to get away with doing wrong and it appears that they are at peace in all their wrongdoings.

  Well today while I was around the house and getting ready for work I found myself being very doubtful about certain things in my life. Out of no where I heard a noise. The only problem is there is no one else in the house but me. I looked around me and saw nothing so I continued with what I was doing. About half an hour later I go downstairs to find that the flowers on the table had overturned and there was water all over the floor. Since I can no longer believe in ghost I told myself that it was God. In my mind it was God talking to me. He was getting my attention because he is the only one who reads our thoughts and I was having doubts about my prayers. Well" God  got my attention by letting me realize that there is nothing impossible for him to do. Just like Jesus said in the bible " when you pray you must believe. This verse is found in mark 11:24.    

Mark 15:39 also gives an account of the centurion and his faith Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed. For I too am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me: and I say to one, "Go" and he goes; and to another, "Come," and he comes; and to my servant, "Do this," and he does it.'"

I also know someone who in past conversations told me that she does not say the same prayer over and over because she believes that her prayer has been answered so there is no reason to pray that prayer again. I do believe in God but sometimes the doubts and disappointments can be too much, but as my mother use to say" God won't give you no more than you can bear. Today I realized I needed to stop having doubts no matter the situation. Believing God now determines my future. Walking around in doubt is basically stating that God does not have the power or ability to do what he said he will do. His word tells us in Matthew 7:11 

if ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children how much more will your heavenly father give good gifts unto you. My thoughts also took me to Sara and Abraham when the angel visited Sara to tell her that this time next year you will be with child. Sara laughed and denied laughing when asked by the angel. But God had made a promise to Abraham, and he is not a breaker of promises but a keeper. He is the author and finisher of our faith.  He is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. What God put together let no man put asunder. 

So if I want my prayers to be answered I must believe that it is already answered. If I need healing I must believe that he is able to heal me so therefore I am already healed. If I need a miracle it's already done. Believing is the key. Believing without the slightest doubt.

God is a loving God

So long as people only see God as a loving God or still think that he is baby jesus they will never have a true desire to change. God is a loving God!!he is also a jealous God!! he is a vengeful God and when he gets angry  no one can stand before his wrath. The bible says the mountains quake at his presence. Nahum 1:6,7 &8 states: Who can stand before his indignation? And who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. The Lord  is Good , a strong hold in the day of trouble and he knows them that trust in him. But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

I just want people to understand that my God is not a toy to play with.  God is real, Jesus is real and he is coming soon. Who will be able to stand before him. I know that I quiver at the sound of thunder how much more will I quiver if God should become angry at me. Wasn't it king Nebuchadnezzar who got beside himself believing that he built this great kingdom and admiring himself instead of admiring and thanking God who gives to whomever he pleases.  Wasn't he cast out of his own kingdom for 7 years and lived in the wilderness for seven years until he acknowledged God. After seven years his kingdom was restored to him. Didn't God bring an earthquake to destroy the Israelites in the desert for thinking that he was gone away just like Moses and built themselves a golden calf, transgressing against the almighty. As children didn't our parents punish or correct us when we did wrong. Yet I have heard some people say they don't believed in God because he took away their loved one or since he allows all this wickedness to go on they no longer believe . I thought the word said that God is slow to anger because it is not his desire that any of us should perish and go to hell. He would prefer if all of us would be saved. 

Some ask the question, how can God destroy us if he is so loving? Why does he allow bad things  to happen? I suppose we want a life that is filled with laughter, no pain and no repercussion for wrongdoing. Looks like we have forgotten that the world now lies in sin and we should all know by now who controls this world ( Satan) and he has no place to go until the judgement. Didn't Satan try to tempt Jesus? Matthew 4:8,9 

Again the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and there splendor. All this I will give you if you will bow down and worship me. And Jesus said to him , "depart from me satan, for it is written "serve the Lord thy God and him only shall you serve. 

For those who choose not to believe Paul ask the question in Galatians 3:1 Oh foolish Galatians who has bewitched you that you should not believe the truth....

Do I Know Jesus!!!

Do I know Jesus 

To know Jesus is to have a personal relationship with him. To have a personal relationship with him means pulling out and dusting off that bible that has been sitting on that shelf for so long. Just going to church and hearing what the pastor says and doing nothing with what you have learned is not having a personal relationship. The bible says that in that day many will say Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, cast out demons in thy name, and done many wonders in thy name, Matthew  7:23 And then I will declare to them 'I never knew you, depart from me ye workers of iniquity. 

I realized that to know Jesus is to love God. Jesus said" I have done nothing of my own will, everything I do, I do according to the will of my father who sent me. So if it is important for Jesus to obey God it is ever so much for us to obey God also. I have heard some people say that Jesus is the white mans God and where is the black mans God. Other races of people honor someone within their own culture based on their own beliefs. 

I believe in Jesus Christ. Do I have a picture in my house of the figure that everyone else believes is Jesus? No I do not. Deuteronomy 5:8 Do not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the  earth beneath or in the waters below. We are all here as people and regardless of race we were all created by one God who had one son who sent his son to die for all of us who chooses to believe. I choose to believe, I choose to believe because God has never let me down yet. (Man has let me down, so called friends have let me down, governments let people down). I choose to have a personal relationship with him because he first chose me. I did not wake up one day and say let me start believing in God. God has a way of drawing us close to him and getting our attention. When so many things start to happen in your life and you can't seem to get control, that may be God trying to get your attention. I remember when I was a child and my aunt would leave the house to go to market she would always pray. Her prayer was for God to carry her to her destination safely and when she got home she thanked him again for bringing her home safe. I use her as a guide in my life because she was a believer. I cannot let society dictate to me how I should believe or should I believe. I know without a doubt that God exist and I need him in my life at all times because  I cannot do it alone. Believing in God satisfies me. I don't spend time trying to see how many people I can take advantage of today. I don't spend time trying to cause confusion in other peoples lives. I spend my day meditating on his word and listening to songs which glorify Him. I recently had someone tell me that it feels good to be evil and I love being evil. We must be careful in making statements such as these and taking it upon our selves to do evil. To do evil is not of God but yet this came out of the mouth of someone who is a regular church goer. The Lord says " They declare me with their mouth but their heart is far from me. If I truly love the Lord then I will do all I can to please him. Some people are so intent on pleasing others that they forget that their purpose in life is to please God. 

 When we know Jesus we do his will. When we love God we follow his commandments. John 21:17  a third time he said to him, Simon son of John,  do you love me? Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, do you love me? He said, lord you know all things; you know that I love you" Jesus said " Feed My Sheep.

What side of the law am I on and who's law am I following? The decision to have an abortion goes against Gods law. If I choose to commit murder goes against Gods law. Going against his commandments is going against Gods law. There are so many things that we put above God as if he is secondary. I hope to never  let a job jeopardize my beliefs. Making a decision to feed my family is important, but it should never come between me and God. If I choose to let money become a deciding factor then I have now put money above God. We all have something that we believe in, and will take a stand for,  be it evil or good but in my house God wins. So I don't have a million dollar house and I don't drive a fancy car but my eternity should be the most important thing in every decision that I make in life.  Money buys lots of material goods but when the body becomes ill all the money in the world can't save me. If the doctor says  that I am terminal money cannot save me. It is God who gives life. It is he who prolongs our days. Don't  get me wrong, I have seen the wicked live a long and prosperous life and I have seen a humble and sincere person be cut off from this world. But whether we live to be old or we die young the soul must go back to the one who gave it to us" God". We may live 70, 80, 90 or even 100 years but that is a very short time to be on this earth. Some people who do not believe in God believes that we live and die and that is the end. Well, the  soul does not die and we all have a soul. The soul of mankind will not be destroyed until the final judgement before God, and even then the bible says that those who do not believe will be tormented in fire and brimstone. I have never seen brimstone and I don't know who has. I cannot describe it but I bet it makes hell a little more hotter. I do not want to see fire and brimstone or a place where the worm does not die.  Who will you serve. As Joshua said" as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

Dr. Charles Stanley Warns America

Influential Pastor Warns of Socialism, Departure from God

America currently stands in a very dangerous position, said renowned pastor and author Dr. Charles Stanley. Today more than ever, the country is turning away from God and moving closer toward socialism, he warned. And the consequences will be grave.

"We know the truth, we know the principles of God. In spite of all that, we find ourselves as a nation violating the laws of God, heading in a direction that is going to be disastrous for us, for our children and the generations that are to come unless there is a change," he said.
Speaking to thousands at First Baptist Church of Atlanta and to a live Web audience on Friday, Stanley delivered a sobering 4th of July message about a dangerous spiritual tide that is engulfing the country and the crucial need for prayer.

"There is a tide that has touched the shores of our land and reached the heart of our nation," he said against the backdrop of the U.S. flag. "It is a tide that is bringing with it ideas and philosophies, actions and attitudes that will ultimately destroy the way of life that you and I have."

The influential pastor and founder of In Touch Ministries listed 12 things involved in the tide. Among them are the financial crisis and the move toward socialism.

With the national debt rising by the billions every day and increasing taxation, future generations will likely be left with a debt so heavy that they'll never be able to spend most of what they make, he said.

Addressing the idea of spreading the wealth, Stanley emphasized, "It is not the government's responsibility to take care of us. It is to protect us.

"We're responsible for taking care of ourselves."

Socialism, he pointed out, is opposed primarily to Christianity and Judaism.

"In Christianity, we're taught to do our best because we've been gifted by God. So there's motivation, willingness and we cooperate," he explained. "We use our spiritual gifts for the good of everyone."

But under a socialist society, in which the government controls all means of production and distribution, there is no motivation for diligence and creativity is stifled, he said.

When there is less reward, there is less to give. And as evidenced in the recent downturn, what suffers first is supporting missionary work.

"You see, it affects every single aspect of society," Stanley warned.

He added, "Naturally, when the government takes control, do you think that freedom of speech is always going to be there?"

"The tide is bringing in a control that will indeed attempt to silence the truth and will attempt to squash the religious devotion and worship of the people of God."

That tide began creeping in many years ago, he noted, when the government and the courts began banning prayer at schools and removing references to Jesus, God and the Ten Commandments from the public square, Stanley noted.

"It is an attempt to destroy the Christian spirit in America," he said.

"There is a war going on against Jesus," he declared. "It's part of the strategy. The primary reason for this war against Him is He is interfering with the plan to make this a socialist nation. Mark it down. It is the truth."

Among the other elements of the dangerous tide are: terrorism, turning our backs on Israel, the announcement that the United States is not a Christian nation, increasing national disasters, a departure from the biblical view of marriage, and support for killing the unborn, Stanley listed.
"Mark this down for socialism because these three groups of people who do not contribute to the state ... are of no value: unborn babies, the elderly and those who are disabled," said the Atlanta pastor.

With the tide moving fast, Stanley issued a charge to Christians to turn it around.

He called believers to join him in 140 days of humbling themselves, repenting of sins and praying to God.

"The Bible says judgment begins at the house of God. We're not expecting lost people to do all this because this is the work of the people of God; it is our responsibility," he stressed. "A lot of where we are is because of our apathy. We haven't prayed for these men who are making decisions."

"Do you want this nation to keep going where it's going or do you want us to get back on track?" he posed.

Prayer, he said, is the one thing he knows that works.

"Do you believe God answers prayer?" he asked. "Pray for God to change the direction of this tide."

He added that those prayers have to be backed up with righteousness and a godly life if they are to be effective and nation-altering.

"There has never been a nation like these United States. We do not want it to fail or to fall."

Sin No More!!

 In Genesis  God told Cain that sin was at the door and you have power over it. 

So we have all been given control and power to defeat  sin.   Now God spoke to Cain and warned him, so by saying that sin is at the door is basically telling Cain to not sin by doing what is in his heart. So why would Cain disobey God? Did he not care, was his anger that great, or was it his hate for his brother that was greater. Was Cain the seed of Satan? And if so, is he the seed of Satan because he allowed sin to take control of him or is he the seed of Satan because he was his child.  Not long ago I came across an article which said that the serpent beguiled Eve "meaning had sex with her,  and Cain was born of Satan, Abel was born of Adam,  and the people who translated the bible left this out. That would be the reasoning for God saying that I will put enmity between your seed and his seed. Genesis 3:15  I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.  This  is why jesus had to die for our sins. We all know that jesus was crucified but he rose from the dead. He did not adhere to satan while being tempted, he took the burden of being on the cross since no one else could. He did not pass the cup he drank from it. Peter may have denied Jesus at first but he died honoring him. Either we are for Christ or we are for the wicked one. I  almost believed the story about Cain until someone raised the question what about adam? Adam also partook of the forbidden fruit( I'm only reading the bible from now on) Jesus told the Pharisees that "ye are of your father the devil and the lust of your father ye will do, he was a liar and a murderer from the beginning. I always interpreted this statement as being " the Pharisees had an unbelieving heart, they also crucified Christ, they denied him and only Satan could do this.  to think that Cain actually asked " Am I my brothers keeper" not caring whether he was or not. Many people right now believe their brother is a brother from birth, not caring nor accepting the fact that we are all brothers and sisters no matter the race or color. If we were given the power to have control over sin then why is there such evil on the face of this earth. Is it easier to sin or to do what is right. Can we go about our day to day life without sinning or are we so controlled by the powers of darkness that it becomes almost impossible to not sin. The bible says that we have all inherited sin from our first parents yet God says " you have power over it.  God also says " I am holy so we also should live a holy and sin free life. Today is saturday the sabbath but many bars and clubs are open tonight. I suppose we as a people need to take matters into our own hands and claim our inheritance, our inheritance of everlasting life with Jesus Christ as ruler. The world is dictating what we should wear, how we should act and what we should do, yet God is at the door knocking, so who will open the door and let him in. Not  everyone in this world is a liar, nor a thief, nor a murderer. We all have the ability to do what is right. But some people just like Cain has acquired the Cain mentality. They do not care about other people, they only have love for self, they will lie, steal and kill. The bible also says " that Satan was a liar and a murderer from the beginning and we all know that Cain killed Abel.  Cain had a blatant disregard for life. He also did not care about Gods warning. Is there anyone sounding the alarm right now? I don't believe so. Even though we can take a good look around us and see that things are not right. I was reading Matthew the other day and Jesus used the word repent a few times. I have not heard the word repent being used in church in so many years. Cain may have died many centuries ago but his spirit is running rampant in lots of people today. God is at the door so who will let him in.  I hear him calling do you? John 10:27 says" My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me.
